Since resolving several years ago to present 21st-century contemporary art music, TRANSIT has profiled itself as a festival of premieres.
The musical message of TRANSIT is pure: outspokenly exploratory music, often radical in expression and not afraid to go deep.
TRANSIT composers and performers come from all over the world. The opening concert is an exception, as it offers a forum for young composers from Flanders who represent the range of today’s art music.
Every year TRANSIT proves again that the community of people loving this music is growing.
Each new TRANSIT festival adds a few pages to 21st-century music history. You can witness it in the making. And you’ll never be sent into the field unprepared, since every concert is introduced by the composers. They attend the festival and they’re very approachable.
