Return to the overview

What’s up? Following 2012’s ISCM World Music Days, this year’s TRANSIT is back to its old free-wheeling self: adventurous, independent and on the lookout for interesting deve-lopments in the contemporary music scene. Eighteen premieres and a lot of upcoming talent are in store this year, as well as appearances by greats like Peter Ablinger, Luc Brewaeys, Bernhard Lang and Michael Finnissy.

Demanding virtuosity will feature in two concerts for two pianos and in the violin recital. There will be an updated look at opera and lieder recitals, and there’s even a dance performance, also a premiere. Unusually, two concerts will involve Jacques Brel. And once again, there’s always the pleasure of hearing and seeing great musicians and ensembles at work – and the pleasure is mutual. Composers and musicians enjoy presenting the fruits of their creative endeavours to the critical but enthusiastic TRANSIT audiences.

Together with you, I look forward to another thrilling TRANSIT weekend of against-the-mainstream excitement.
